WHAT TO WEAR

Picking out outfits can be daunting - I totally get it. I mean, I’m the the girl who would rather wear an oversized graphic tee, leggings, and flip flops rather than anything cute or stylish (lol). The good news is that picking out a “photogenic outfit” has nothing to do with “fashion” at all. Instead, we want to focus on representing your personality, staying true to yourself, and being comfortable!

Trust me, having someone stalk you for an hour (me) and shoving a camera all up in your business is way less stressful when you’re relaxed and not worrying about your clothes. Please know that these are just suggestions, you can follow them or ignore all of them, it doesn’t really matter to me.

My only rule: Just. Be. Yourself.

Is your daily outfit ripped jean shorts and a graphic tee? Wear that! Love sandals and tanks? Wear that! Do you love dressing up and being creative? Bring a dress or some tie-dye or an animal print shirt or Coachella festival vibes! WHATEVER!

You’re welcome to go shop for a new outfit, but I would encourage you to first check out your closet. Pick out your favorite, most comfortable items, and bring those.

Pinterest can also be a very useful and helpful guide (as long as you use it as inspiration rather than a comparison), so I’ve included my Senior Inspo board here. You’ll see it also includes a “WHERE TO SHOP” section in case you’re wanting to do a little shopping 🙃

BRING OPTIONS…

That way, I can help narrow down the selection based on the weather, the location, the vibe, etc. I’ll help make sure sure each outfit complements the environment and doesn’t cause any distractions - like I said, we want the focus to be on YOU, not the pattern of your dress or the logo on your shirt. You are the main events!

Most seniors bring about 3-5 outfits (with a mix of different tops and bottoms). You can also bring dresses, jackets, hats, accessories, etc. Keep in mind that you’ll likely be changing in the back of the car or behind a random tree, so if you’re not cool with that, then you can just bring one outfit. Please text/email me a photo of your outfit choices beforehand so we can make that one outfit the best one.

PROPS

Okay, let’s be real. Most props are cheesy and overdone. I’m assuming because you’ve booked me, you like my natural & trendy, yet timeless style. Therefore, I suggest props limiting props and only grabbing those fun, creative, celebratory ones! Things like letterman’s jacket, or an item relating to your high school hobby or sports team work great and we will only need them for 2-5 mins TOPS. (like I said, I like to keep things about YOU). Other fun props might be a blanket, your fav soda or a slurpee (bring me one), a stool, confetti, etc.

PATTERNS

Pattens can be tough, because sometimes they appear different in photos than in person. Steer clear of big, loud, noisy patterns. The more subtle and the smaller, the better.

If you’re bringing a patterned shirt, try to have colors that are complimentary colors and aren't to contrasty.

Pinterest will give you an idea of what patterns work and which one’s don’t! Check it out!
